Matthew Noel  is a Senior Counsel at Davis Wang.  Mr. Noel is a seasoned litigator and his practice at the firm includes complex personal injury, commercial disputes, and employment litigation. 

His litigation successes include:

  • obtaining defense verdict in contract dispute between Macy’s West Stores, Inc. and Kellermeyer Bergensons Services (San Joaquin County Superior Court Case No. 39-2012-00290535-CU-PO-STK).
  • obtaining summary judgment in premises liability action against property owner in Bush v. Dixon (Sonoma County Superior Court Case No. SCV-259669).
  • obtaining summary judgment in Albinto v. Macy’s. (San Joaquin County Superior Court Case No. 39-2009-00227493-CU-PO-STK).
  • obtaining summary judgment in Simball v. ABM. (San Francisco County Superior Court Case No. CGC 12 522558) where final demand was in excess of $3 million.
  • obtaining summary judgment in negligence action against security company in Landes v. Glin, et al. (San Mateo County Superior Court Case No. 16CIV01133).
  • obtaining defense verdict in catastrophic injury matter involving motor vehicle versus bicyclist where final demand was in excess of $3 million (Zeiad v. Rent-A-Center in Alameda County Case No. RG09485676).
  • obtaining summary judgment in Athas v. Zabit under the Privette line of cases. (San Francisco Superior Court Case No. CGC-08-473027).
  • obtaining summary judgment in Porter v. Siller Brothers, Inc. under Cal. Civ. Code 846. (Shasta County Superior Court Case No. 165192).
  • obtaining summary judgment in bad faith action against insurer in Thayer v. City and County of San Francisco (San Francisco Superior Court Case No. CGC-05-433325).

Mr. Noel received his bachelor degree from the University of Arizona in 1997 and his JD from Golden Gate University School of Law in 2005.

Mr. Noel is a member of the California State Bar and is admitted to practice before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and United States District Court for the Central, Eastern and Northern Districts of California.  Mr. Noel also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable R. Barclay Surrick (United States District Court – Eastern District of Pennsylvania).
